About BACI: Building Caring Communities
The Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion (BACI)
has dedicated over 53 years to supporting children, youth and adults
with developmental disabilities in becoming fully participating
members of the Burnaby community, and in pursuing their interests
and dreams.
BACI provides a broad range of programs and services including
infant development, child care, adult day programs, supported
residential facilities, skills development and advocacy to over 800
individuals with disabilities and their families.
At our 6 inclusive child care centers, children with
disabilities attend with other children from their neighborhoods.
Older youth participate in teen transitions programs, and are being
supported and encouraged as they grow into adults and become
contributing members of the community. The 17 supported
housing complexes that we operate in Burnaby enable over 200 adults
with disabilities to live more independent and fulfilling
lives.
While the world has changed a lot over the past 50 years, there
is still a long way to go when it comes to people with disabilities
being accepted as valuable contributors to our society and welcome
members of our community.
We cannot be successful alone in trying to advocate for positive
change. The work we do depends on the generous support of
individuals, businesses, service organizations and foundations that
provide grants, make donations, give gifts-in-kind and volunteer
their time.
Please join us as we build a more inclusive and caring
community.
